Transport North East coordinates transport strategy across the North East Combined Authority area, spanning Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham and beyond. It works alongside Nexus, which handles Tyne and Wear day-to-day operations and the Metro.

What to expect

A mix of dense urban networks around Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham, and long rural routes across Northumberland and the Durham dales where buses are the only public transport for many miles.
