Transport for West Midlands

Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and the Black Country

Transport for West Midlands coordinates transport across the region under the West Midlands Combined Authority, using the Network West Midlands brand for travel information and tickets. The bus network is dominated by National Express West Midlands, with Diamond, Stagecoach and others alongside.

Tickets

nNetwork tickets cover all operators across the region and are the sensible choice for mixed journeys. Swift is the region's smartcard, and contactless capping applies on most services.

What to expect

One of the busiest bus networks outside London, with very high frequencies on core Birmingham corridors, plus the Midland Metro tram linking Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Tracking West Midlands buses

Operators publish live data, so the region shows well on our map, clipped to the West Midlands boundary.

Fares, ticket ranges and network arrangements change — always check the operator's or authority's own website before travelling. Live tracking coverage depends on what each operator publishes as open data.
