Founded in Perth in 1980 and still headquartered in Scotland, Stagecoach grew into the largest bus operator in the UK. Its blue, red and orange swoops appear in cities and rural areas across England, Scotland and Wales, and it operates a significant share of London's contracted routes.

What to expect

Stagecoach is notable for the breadth of its rural and interurban network as well as its city operations — Manchester, Merseyside, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, the South West, Fife, Highlands and more. Many of its longer routes are the only public transport link between smaller towns.

Tickets and apps

The StagecoachBus app sells m-tickets and megarider passes, which are usually far cheaper than daily singles if you travel regularly. Contactless tap-on with daily capping is available across most of the network.
