McGill's
Scotland's largest independent bus operator
McGill's is a family-founded operator based in Inverclyde that grew into the biggest independent bus company in Scotland, expanding well beyond its Greenock and Paisley roots into Glasgow, the west of Scotland and, through acquisitions, further east and north.
What to expect
Strong networks in Inverclyde, Renfrewshire and Glasgow, including busy commuter corridors into the city. As an independent, it competes directly with the larger groups on several key routes, which often means more choice but occasionally confusing ticket validity.
Tickets and apps
McGill's tickets are generally not interchangeable with other operators' unless you buy a multi-operator product such as a ZoneCard in the Strathclyde area. The company's app sells m-tickets and shows live departures.
Tracking McGill's buses
As with other Scottish operators, live vehicle publishing is voluntary, so realtime coverage on our map is patchy while timetables are complete.
