TrawsCymru, Cardiff Bus and the move to franchising

Cardiff Bus and Newport Bus are council-owned city operators, Stagecoach South Wales covers the Valleys, First Cymru runs Swansea and West Wales, and Arriva Buses Wales serves the north. Transport for Wales' TrawsCymru long-distance routes link the rest, and the Welsh Government is moving bus services towards franchising.

Getting around by bus

Cardiff's castle, stadium and shopping streets are all a short walk from the central bus interchange. TrawsCymru T-routes are the backbone of mid and west Wales, where rail is sparse.
